It's been a long time since I've been on this site and I've been doing some travelling and I wanted to share this short story with who ever wishes to read it....
I was visiting some friends and associates in Minneapolis one weekend, now I've never thought to go to Minnesota but I managed to purchase this bus ticket for $16 - round trip and even though I could have drove, I wouldn't have made it all the way to Minneapolis on 16 bucks in a truck, besides, I don't pass up a good deal!
So, I had some business in Chicago that week, and it just wrapped up, so I'm waiting at the bus stop downtown across from Union Station. Something told me that this was a pretty ruff area to be standing around in because a Police lady told me that it was a ruff area to be standing around in with the pick-pockets and prostitutes and all. Well, I've been in Decatur, Ga for 10 years so I'm no stranger to a nieghborhood full of hoes, but I should have suspected the bus company to be a little ghetto because the driver was 20 minutes late, which like I said I'm from Decatur, so I'm no stranger to people running late. Bamm, the bus pulls up and we all shuffle on board one of those double deckers like in England, so I'm like "Yeah, I'm going up top". I said this in my head because I didn't know anyone and that would have been wierd to talk out loud like that in public, right?
So anyway, we pass-thru St. Louis, MS and we're on our way to Minnesota, we're cruising right along and all of a sudden...the bus slows down and Bamm!... hits a big boi U-turn in the middle of the highway and Bamm... we on the way back to St Louis. The driver went down the wrong highway.
Now that's pretty funny, and my weekend was pretty strange and of course I had to do 6 shots of Johnny Walker Black back to back to back to back to back to back toasting that U-turn as soon as I arrived to my destination, but the best part was on the way back to Chicago. We travel all the way back with no events, I even made a friend on the trip and we had a great conversation for the entire 8 hour trip (good times); but the whole way back I thought "Where's my U-turn"? We get downtown Chicago and I'm thinking "Oh well, I guess no U-turn". Then we hit Canal St, and all of a sudden...Bamm!...I get what I wish for, in traffic! That was the best and only $16 road trip I will probably ever have! I thought that one was worth sharing....
